In 2000, less than 8% of the population actually participated in the life of the Christian Church. England in the 21st century shows little interest in organised religion, with most people using the churches mainly for weddings, funerals, and the baptism of children.

In 2000 the Church of the Nazarene reported 67 congregations with 2005 members and an average worship attendance of 2178.

In 2005 we reported 53 active congregations with 1612 members and an average attendance of 1859.
