According to Church of Norway statistics, the average church attendance is about 100 persons per service, corresponding to three per cent of the population.
The Church of the Nazarene began a house group in Oslo in 2003. Pastor Jorge Rocha emigrated to Oslo from Brazil. As a Nazarene pastor he wanted to begin a Nazarene church. With the help of the Danish church Jorge has been in contact with 50 Portuguese and Spanish speaking people who are now living in Oslo . The infant congregation averages 18 in worship attendance.
A Gallop Poll released in September 2001 stated that Denmark has the highest level of confidence in religious institutions at 74%, yet just 3% of Danes attend church at least once a week. Church attendance has been falling steadily for the last 50 years.
The Church of the Nazarene has been active in Denmark for forty years. The statistics of our churches there reflect the general trend of the whole of Danish society.
In 2000 the Church of the Nazarene reported 4 congregations with 65 members and an average worship attendance of 79
