Our dear Prayer Partners

Just a short note to let you know that I will be flying to the U.S. this Sat. (Jan.17) and will then be in the States until Feb. 18. I will be visiting my parents in Arizona, and then friends in San Antonio, Texas. From Jan.31-Feb.6 I will be in Kansas City, where I will be working with the singers who will be coming to Germany with the MidAmerica Nazarene University Jazz Band in May to do concerts with Gospel-Union. I would very much appreciate your prayers for this month in the U.S. and especially for the time in Kansas City. I hope to be able to help the band to understand the mission they will have when they are in our area of Germany.

While I'm away, the choir people will be meeting in their various voice groups to practise the eight songs we want to sing with the Jazz Band. We have new people in the choirs, who don't know any of the repertoire, so it's a lot of work for them, since most of them do not read music, nor have they ever sung in a choir before! It's always a challenge, especially for those who have never before sung harmony. But in all of this, the goal behind the choir work, that people come to know God's love through learning about Jesus, is being reached. When I was in the U.S. last year, I began to pray that God would lead new people into the choirs who would be open to hearing about God and reading His Word. God is really answering this prayer, and we have begun new Bible studies and even more will be started when I return. One lady in one of the groups, who has had Atheist/Communist background says now she wants to find out what it was that was forbidden in her family. She is reading/hearing the Word with so much interest and openness, that it is a blessing to watch God's Spirit at work in her. This is just one example, and since I wanted to keep this short, I'll stop here.
