The Netherlands District Assembly on March 6-7 was special in several ways. Dr.Diehl led the delegates to the altar early Saturday morning. 'What you can't change- commit to Christ'. Many people surrendered their personal and church situations to the Lord. It provided the right kind of spiritual climate for the business at hand.
The theme of the sessions was dominated by becoming a missional, lifegiving district. Districtsuperintendent Arthur Snijders emphasized in his report, 'We are called to be a people known for the streams of living water flowing out of our lives and churches'. This missional mindset came through in two presentations. One focused on church planting, the other on the opportunities of combining physical and virtual communities of faith through internet.
Arthur Snijders was re-elected for another 4 years with a 98% yes ballot. The Assembly closed with an excellent ordination service. Dr.Diehl ordained Rev.Paul van der Laan, the first ordained deacon on this district, and Rev.Erik Groeneveld.
Blessings!
