The Hajdúhadház Church of the Nazarene in Hungary is taking the commands of Jesus seriously to go into their community and do good works, witnessing to the power of God.

Pastor Fiak Gyula, has started teaching English to the people of Hajdúhadház for free. Gyula began by teaching in the nearby village of Téglas at the II. Rákóczi Ferenc Általános Iskola és Alapfokú Művészetoktatási Intézmény (local school).

Director Szilágyiné Bodnár Erzsébet was very excited about the opportunity for her children to learn English making them better prepared in todays business market.

Next, Gyula moved to the Hajdúhadház Bocskai István Két Tanítási Nyelvű Általános Iskola (school) directed by Demeterné Hajdú Marianna and then added a third school at Földi János Általános és Művészeti Iskola with director Vass László. On May 15th, they will begin teaching adults at the local library in Hajdúhadház.

Fiak Masha has been holding children’s summer weekly fun programs at the church. The local church board decided to remodel one room and turn it into a coffee stop for the parents of the children while the children participated in the program.

The church is also making preparations to renovate their back yard into a sports field for the community. There are no sports fields in Hajdúhadház.

On May 17th, the church will host their second music choir with the Hajdúhadházi Városi Pedagógus Női Kar (choir) and the Téglási Pedagőgus kórus performing. The last time these choirs sang, the church was packed with people from the community.

The church is leading the way for a planned Hungarian work and witness trip to Shigishoara Romania in early August and is coordinating with Karen Daly from the UK to have a prayer tour of Romania, Ukraine, Slovakia and Hungary in September.

In Luke 9:1-2, Jesus commissioned his disciples “to preach the news of the kingdom and heal the sick.” He also gave them the power and authority to deal with demons and diseases. This can and is being done in real ways in Hajdúhadház.
